We are currently seeking a skilled Fabricator / Shop Welder to join our team.
Job Overview
As a Fabricator / Shop Welder at Ward Welding Services Inc., you will be responsible for fabricating, fitting, and welding custom metal components and structures in a fast-paced shop environment. This role involves working with a variety of materials, including stainless steel, and requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and pride in producing high-quality work.
The ideal candidate has fabrication experience, strong welding skills, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a team-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate, fit, and assemble custom metal components and structures
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on a variety of materials, including stainless steel
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and fabrication layouts
- Operate fabrication equipment and power tools safely and efficiently
- Grind, finish, and prepare materials to meet quality standards
- Assist with shop organization, material handling, and workflow efficiency
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure a clean, safe work environment
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on schedule
Qualifications
- Previous experience in welding and metal fabrication
- Experience working with stainless steel is required
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and measurements
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Experience operating shop equipment such as press brakes, ironworkers, forklifts, or plasma tables is considered an asset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong focus on workplace safety and organization
