About the Opportunity
Our client in the Niagara (St Catharines/Hamilton) region is looking for a CPA Designated Controller to join their growing team on a full-time, permanent basis in a newly created role. The successful candidate will enjoy working hands-on, have excellent attention to detail, and thrive in fast-paced environments.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Management of General Ledger and related Accounting duties
Reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts, managing customer and distributor accounts & ensuring prompt payment, as well as resolving discrepancies as needed
Respond to vendor inquiries and complete follow-ups
Posting of Journal Entries & working closely with the General Ledger, adjustments as needed
Processing payroll, HST remittances, WSIB- collect and validate payroll inputs (hours, premiums, allowances)
Preparation of consolidated monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statements, Financial reporting
Submission of tax remittances
Coordination and preparation of budget and financial forecasts, institute and maintain planning and control procedures and analyze report variances
Preparing Month and Year End closing, ensure transactions are complete, accurate, and properly documented
Liaising with auditors, take an active role in internal and external Audit, providing required reporting
Ensuring compliance as well as implementation of policies and procedures, monitoring for accurate and successful execution
Provide contributions and recommendations regarding business acquisitions and other financial aspects of the business, communicating with Senior Management on financial variances and strategies
Participate in other active projects and ad hoc reporting as needed
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
CPA Designation, active in good standing
5+ years of experience in Accounting & Finance
Experience with QuickBooks Online is strongly preferred
Previous experience with ERP implementation is a strong asset
Previous experience in the manufacturing industry (food & beverage) is an asset
Strong oral, written, and communication skills (English essential)
Strong problem-solving skills
Highly organized, strong attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills, self-starter, collaborative
About the Job
The salary band for this opportunity is $110,000 to $130,000 depending on relevant previous experience.
