Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Pipe Layer/Labourer and be a vital part of infrastructure projects that keep communities connected and thriving. In this role, you will assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground piping systems, ensuring safety, precision, and efficiency at every step. Your hands-on skills and mechanical knowledge will help drive successful project outcomes while supporting a collaborative work environment that values your contributions. Responsibilities

Assist with the layout, excavation, and installation of underground piping systems using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, and skidsteers
Operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently, including low voltage equipment like bucket trucks and rigging setups for lifting and positioning pipes
Prepare work sites by clearing debris, setting up safety barriers, and ensuring proper site access for all equipment and personnel
Follow safety protocols rigorously to prevent accidents, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety guidelines for heavy equipment operation
Assist with the rigging, lifting, and placement of pipes or materials using hand tools, power tools, and rigging gear to ensure precise alignment and secure connections

Skills

Mechanical knowledge with an understanding of piping systems, tools, and basic electrical concepts
Experience operating, or working around excavators, backhoes, low voltage equipment, and other heavy machinery
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in construction and pipe laying tasks
Knowledge of rigging techniques for lifting heavy materials safely
Strong safety awareness with a focus on maintaining a safe work environment at all times
