Full job description

HRleaf is seeking an experienced and motivated people leader to join as a Consulting Team Lead. In this role, you will guide a team of Consultants and Analysts, turning strategic direction into consistent, high-quality client delivery on a day-to-day basis.

Reporting to the Director of Consulting Services, this is a hands-on leadership position focused on team development, performance management, workflow coordination, and ensuring smooth execution of client engagements. You will play a key role in maintaining service excellence, resolving escalations, and strengthening operational processes across the team.

What You’ll Be Doing

Translate leadership strategy into clear, actionable plans and daily execution across the team
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Consultants and Analysts by setting expectations and supporting performance growth
Manage team workload, prioritize assignments, track deliverables, and remove barriers to ensure timely completion
Strengthen team capability through coaching, knowledge sharing, and improved decision-making
Handle client and internal escalations, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication throughout
Identify opportunities for improvement and enhance workflows, tools, templates, and processes
Monitor service quality and consistency across engagements, ensuring compliance and risk awareness
Maintain a small portfolio of clients to stay closely connected to the client experience and model best practices

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in people leadership, with a strong focus on coaching, accountability, and team development
5+ years of experience in Group Benefits and/or Group Retirement
Strong ability to manage priorities, make decisions, and guide teams in fast-paced or complex environments
Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear direction and constructive feedback
Experience managing escalations and resolving issues with sound judgment
Strong organizational and delegation skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Life License (LLQP) required
CEBS designation (completed or in progress) preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and familiarity with CRM or workflow management tools
