About the role:
The Hospital strives to deliver care that is centred on patients and families. Patient and Family Centred Care (PFCC)
is the provision of care that is respectful of, and responsive to individual patient/family preferences, needs, and values

Reporting to the Manager, Adult Mental Health Program, the Psychologist provides evidence-based psychological assessment, consultation and treatment for adults receiving services through the Brief Intervention Treatment for individuals aged 17 years and older receiving services through the Brief Intervention Treatment Team (BITT), working collaboratively within an interprofessional outpatient mental health team to support high-quality, patient- and family-centered care.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience:
- CPA/APA accredited internship/residency (or equivalent) in Clinical Psychology Preferred.
- Unencumbered Registration or eligible for registration as a Psychologist with the College of Psychologists and
Behaviour Analysts of Ontario.
- Authorized area of practice in Clinical Psychology.
- Authorized client populations in adults.
- Education, training and experience in applying evidence‑based psychological approaches for a range of common
mental health presentations.
Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated competencies in consultation, assessment and leadership within an interprofessional healthcare
team.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative outpatient mental health environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Health Care Consent Act and Substitute Decisions Act.
- Expertise in evidence‑based assessment and treatment of a broad spectrum of psychological disorders.
- Competency in providing brief, evidence‑based psychological interventions for adults with a range of mental health
concerns in individual and group settings.
- Demonstrated ability to formulate comprehensive psychological assessments and communicate recommendations
effectively to patients, families and healthcare providers.
- Evidence of competency and innovation in quality improvement, program evaluation and research.
- Excellent organizational, time management, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with electronic health records, electronic documentation, email and electronic calendars.
Assets:
- Evidence of prior practice in adult outpatient clinical psychology within a healthcare environment preferred.
- Authorized area of practice in Clinical Neuropsychology.
- Authorized client population in adolescents and/seniors.
- Training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Psychosis (CBTp), Dialectical
Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), or other evidence‑based psychological
interventions.
- Interest in clinical research, quality improvement and program evaluation.
Salary Range: $61.500 to 79.750
