Job Description:
Levaero Aviation is looking for a passionate team member to join our finance and accounting team as an Accounting Associate. This position is based out of our Canadian headquarters in Thunder Bay, Ontario. You will be contributing to the financial management of one of Canada’s leading aerospace companies. Our company offers opportunities for training and advancement within our corporate structure.
Responsibilities:
- Process and monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions.
- Assist staff with inquiries and procedures related to receivables and payables.
- Maintaining spreadsheets with key accounting information for invoicing customers.
- Preparing and processing payments to vendors.
- Answering customer enquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions
- Analyze profit margins and identify trends affecting business performance
- Review financial data and investigate variances from budgets and forecasts
- Prepare reports and provide recommendations based on financial analysis
- Bank Reconciliations
- GL Account Reconciliations and Journal Entries
- Experience with Accrual Accounting
- Preparing various government reports including HST and QST returns.
- Support month-end and year-end accounting processes.
- Ability to understand systems and streamline processes to boost efficiency
- Assisting other accounting and administrative staff with various duties.
- Performing other miscellaneous duties as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bookkeeping diploma with 5 years Full Cycle Accounting Experience,
- A demonstrated understanding of accounting concepts.
- Ability to interpret financial data
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with Excel, Word, Adobe pdf Editor and Outlook.
- Experience working with Sage accounting software.
- High level of discretion required when dealing with confidential matters
- Highly organized and ability to proactively find solutions
- Attention to detail, ability to multitask and great follow up skills
- Strong time management, written and verbal communication, research and presentation skills
- Problem solving skills, including the ability to develop procedures to more efficiently perform required duties.
- Must be available for flexible hours when needed
Location and Other Details:
- Work is performed on site (Thunder Bay, Ontario).
- Regular work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Overtime may be required as requested by management.
- Casual dress code with occasional business casual as requested by management.
