SUMMARY
Reporting to the Project Supervisor, the Asphalt Plant Operator will be responsible for producing and packaging asphalt products while performing quality control, documentation, equipment operation, material handling, site maintenance, and working rotating day and night shifts.
PRIMARY SCOPE OF ROLE
PRODUCTION & QUALITY CONTROL
- Produce asphalt emulsion and asphalt cutback products.
- Complete basic quality control tests.
- Document production, inventory, quality control results, and maintenance items.
- Package asphalt products.
PLANT OPERATIONS & LOGISTICS
- Load and unload asphalt cement, asphalt emulsion, and asphalt cutback tankers.
- Operate forklift and skid steer to transfer, load, and organize materials.
- Clean and organize plant, yard, and equipment.
- Work shifts that may include days and nights.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or college diploma in a related discipline
- Computer literate
- Experience in a manufacturing plant or factory setting involving chemical processes preferred
- Mechanical equipment aptitude
- Ability to complete basic mathematical calculations
- Comfort in working in a rugged outdoor environment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Valid Driver`s License
- Previous experience driving skid steer and forklift is preferred or; Ability to drive or successfully complete training in forklift and skid steer operation
- Safety conscious
- Prior experience working in an asphalt plant
- Experience with an ERP system (JD Edwards) will be an asset
- Outcome focused, critical thinker with the ability to analyze and visualize to ensure continuous improvement across our business
- Ability to connect and interact with people to seek different perspectives.
- Strong ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities
- Demonstrate versatility and resourcefulness in overcoming business challenges

- Expected Base Salary: $32.00 per hour. The actual base salary will depend on several factors including experience, qualifications, internal equity, work location and market expectations.
