The Role: Quality Assurance Technician
Reports to: Senior Quality Assurance and Regulatory Manager
Primary Focus:
- Implements company and regulatory quality standards for retail and private label brand products.
- Performs quality control inspections, checks, and tests during the manufacture of products. Inspects materials, parts, and products at different stages of production.
- Records of observations and may make recommendations for improving processes.
- Performs inspections of raw materials, materials in process, and finished products.
- Assists in developing quality control policies and evaluate production limitations. Knowledge of industry and governmental quality regulations.
- Knowledgeable of industry and governmental quality regulations
- Prepares filings and tracks applications for licensing, certification, and permits, and interacts with governmental officials during the regulation and certification process for FSQA programs.
- Monitors compliance with existing regulations and upcoming or changing regulations.
- Performs impact analysis of regulatory changes and produces status reports. Audits and reviews quality data according to existing procedures.
- Documents result in required format. Participates in processes to report, investigate, and address any issues of non-compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains all documentation for the purpose of auditing
- Performs RM inspection upon receiving and manage sample retention
- Reviews incoming reprint of labels, cases for accuracy, functionality, and compliance
- Ensures internal and external programs document accurately reflect all relevant product information.
- Verify CCP's during production runs.
- Plans, conducts, and monitors testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality
- Ensures measuring equipment are functioning properly and report if malfunctioning
- Metal Detector, Weight, First pack of each SKU verification
- Completes documentation based on consumer request
- Reviews, and update existing program and follow up on execution
- Arrange sanitation activities as required
- Record and support investigation of food complaints
- Supports in the preparation of BRC audit and re-certification
- Supports external audits, performs monthly, weekly, and daily audits of the Premises and Processes; record findings and initiate corrective actions
- Conduct daily, weekly and monthly internal audits of premises, processes and documentation; record findings and initiate corrective actions
- Perform allergen testing; prepare and label samples for external testing and customer approvals
- Coach employees during production to enhance Food Safety Culture
- Collect the data and update templates for monthly food safety presentation
- Verify Production Documentation and file accordingly
- Obtain required documents from stakeholders
- Verify pest control program implementation
- Perform disposal procedure when carrying out the disposal of any product
- Perform yearly validation and verification activities
- Maintain supplier & customer complaint folder and prepare the trend for the same
- Prepare COA when requested by customer
- All other duties as required/assigned.
Knowledge & Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment
- Experience in MS Suite - Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Extensive knowledge related to automated testing; be able to report and read it in the right way
- Knowledge of tools, concepts, and methodologies of QA
- Experience in effective usage of data analysis tools and statistical analysis
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements
