Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Cyclone Manufacturing Inc. in Mississauga. This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance of our manufacturing equipment and facilities, contributing directly to our operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains a safe, clean, and organized working environment in compliance with company procedures and ISO regulations.
- Operates cranes, forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, ladders, and other power tools safely.
- Organizes shop and storage areas.
- Fills CNC machines with oil, grease, and coolant as required.
- Changes filters and maintain systems on CNC machines.
- Performs routine inspections and preventive maintenance on CNC machines and related equipment.
- Diagnoses and troubleshoots CNC equipment issues including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical faults.
- Assists with machine calibration, alignment, and accuracy verification.
- Performs repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Uses schematics, manuals, and engineering specifications for troubleshooting and repair.
- Fabricates or modifies parts using machine shop equipment.
- Completes general building maintenance including plumbing, electrical, lighting, ductwork, and air systems.
- Maintains inventory of maintenance parts and supplies.
- Follow all workplace safety policies, procedures, and Ontario regulations.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and internal safety programs.
- Conduct routine safety inspections of equipment and work areas.
- Identify hazards, report unsafe conditions, and take corrective action as required.
- Ensure proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures are followed during maintenance and repairs.
- Use and enforce proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Maintain safety guards, interlocks, and emergency systems on machinery.
- Participate in safety meetings, audits, and training programs.
- Support incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Controls downtime by coordinating maintenance with production teams.
- Communicates maintenance issues and solutions to supervisors and departments.
- Performs all other duties assigned by the Manager.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on CNC maintenance experience.
- Strong knowledge of CNC systems including lubrication, coolant systems, tooling, and machine components.
- Familiarity with CNC controls is an asset.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and documentation.
- Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience with fabrication and machine shop tools.
- Understanding of workplace safety regulations (OHSA) and safe work practices.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills in English (written and verbal).
