As a technical lead on the floor, this position plays a key role in equipment operation, troubleshooting, team support, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on packaging experience, and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced production environment.

- Type: Full time; hours may vary but typical Mon-Fri 9-5pm (with flexibility required based on production needs)

Job Duties
Packaging Operations & Quality
- Lead daily packaging activities including kegging, canning, labeling, and related processes
- Ensure all packaged product meets quality standards (fill levels, seam integrity, date coding, and product specifications)
- Monitor packaging performance and proactively address inefficiencies or quality concerns
- Conduct quality checks including DO, seam integrity, and pasteurization verification (as applicable)
Equipment Operation & Maintenance
- Operate, monitor, and optimize packaging equipment including can fillers, seamers, labelers, pasteurizers, and related systems
- Perform line changeovers, CIP cycles, start-ups, and shutdowns
- Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and process issues to minimize downtime
Leadership & Team Support
- Provide day-to-day guidance, training, and mentorship to packaging team members
- Support a safe, respectful, and high-performing team environment
- Reinforce adherence to SOPs, safety standards, and best practices
- Act as a resource for problem-solving and escalation on the packaging line
Safety, Sanitation & Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards, including HACCP requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
- Participate in the development and continuous improvement of safe work practices
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance product quality
- Collaborate with the brewing, production and logistics teams to ensure smooth production flow
- Support investigation and resolution of product quality concerns and implement corrective actions
Documentation & Reporting
- Accurately complete production records, maintenance logs, and quality documentation
- Maintain inventory tracking and support reporting requirements
- Monitor and analyze production data to support decision-making and continuous improvement
Working Conditions
- Fast-paced manufacturing environment requiring standing, lifting, and equipment operation
- Ability to work in varying environments, including hot, cold, and confined spaces
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting
Requirements
- 1-2 years’ experience in a brewery or automated packaging/manufacturing environment
- Experience with canning line optimization and efficiency tracking
- Familiarity with HACCP and food/beverage safety standards
- Working knowledge of sanitation practices, CIP systems, and package quality standards (e.g., dissolved oxygen, seam integrity)
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions under pressure
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing, brewing, or facilities environment
- Forklift certification considered an asset
- Safety shoes
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to lift up to 50lbs, stand for long periods, able to bend and twist
- Comply with safety procedures
