About Us

Future of Engagement (FoE) is a non-profit organization with a start-up mindset and the goal of making our democracy work for all communities in Canada. FoE leverages technology and data analysis to engage marginalized and underrepresented communities in all aspects of Canada's politics.

Informing communities about political processes and services
Bringing together volunteers with diverse personal and professional backgrounds to develop resources for underrepresented communities
Developing tools that help community leaders set up strategic campaigns, mobilize supporters, and promote their agendas

Job Description

As a Community Liaison Worker, you'll be on the front lines of FoE's municipal election efforts — helping identify the candidates, partners, and community groups that will shape local politics this summer. Working alongside the Program Director and senior staff, you'll reach out to candidates, introduce them to the support FoE offers, and help coordinate the campaign activities that follow. By the end of the summer, you'll have hands-on experience in political outreach, partnership-building, and grassroots campaign coordination.

Tasks

Lead initial outreach to municipal candidates — introducing FoE, gauging interest, connecting them with senior staff, and supporting follow-up as conversations progress.
Build bridges with community organizations, cultural associations, and local groups to spark partnerships and co-organized events
Help bring local campaign events to life, from planning and logistics to on-the-ground coordination
Keep outreach records and candidate contacts organized and up to date
Prepare brief updates for the Program Director on outreach progress and campaign activity
Assist with in-person canvasses and email follow-ups

Key skills and abilities

Strong written and verbal communication, with an eye for clear, persuasive messaging
Comfort starting conversations and building relationships with people across political, cultural, and community lines
Organized and detail-oriented, able to track outreach, follow-ups, and meeting notes
Self-motivated and able to manage your time independently
Background in political science, marketing, communications, sales, or community organizing is an asset
Speaking multiple languages is an asset

Essentials

Summer contract: June to August 2026

$18.25 an hour, 35h/week

Canada Youth Summer Job: Must be under 30 years of age with either canadian citizenship, permanent residency or refugee status

Pay: $18.25 per hour
