Tamwood International Camps welcomes young learners ages 7–17 to develop their English skills in a fun, supportive, and immersive camp environment. Campers participate in a wide range of activities including sports, arts & crafts, adventure challenges, excursions, and talent shows, while building confidence, independence, curiosity, and lifelong friendships.
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated ESL Teachers who are passionate about youth education and experiential learning.

Teaching Responsibilities

Deliver Engaging, Task-Based ESL Lessons

Plan and teach daily task-based ESL lessons using theTamwoodCamps curriculum.

Ensure learning is active, practical, and focused on real-world communication.

Integrate camp themes and activities into lessons (e.g.,preparing forexcursionsand on-campus activities,integratingin-class projects andcampexperiences).

Use digital tools and multimedia resources to support dynamic, student-centered learning.

Daily Preparation & Instructional Materials
-
Prepare lesson plans aligned withTamwoodCampscurriculum guidesand learning outcomes.

Select and create digitaland printmaterials that support task-based learning and daily camp programming.

Incorporate technologyand hands-on activitiesto enhance engagementand promote English fluency.

Student Support & Classroom Management
-
Supervise students during breaks and non-classroom timesas scheduled

Maintain anEnglish-onlyenvironment in the classroom.

Foster a positive, inclusive, and energetic atmosphere consistent with the spirit of summer camp.
Reporting & Administrative Duties
-
Attend all required staff meetings and training sessions.
-
Complete administrative tasks accurately and on time, including daily attendance, in-class assessments, and participation in weekly graduation ceremonies.

Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the ESL Teacher Handbook.

Report to the Head Teacher and Academic Manager (and Camp Director, asrequired).
Desired Qualifications
-
Recognized TESOL certification and/or an undergraduate degree in Education or a related field; second-language teaching experience preferred.

Demonstrated experience working with children and/or youth; experience supervising or supporting staff is an asset.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Strong digital literacy, including confidence using instructional technology and MS Office (Word and Excel).

Effectiveinterpersonal skills with the abilityto solveproblems, work independently, and collaborate effectively in a team.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced camp environment.

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday*

**Teachers will be assigned multiple classes (AM & PM schedules) based on availability.
Contract dates: June 29 to August 8. The dates may vary.
Location: UTM: University of Toronto – Mississauga Campus or St. George Campus
