About the role:
Perform under the direction and supervision of the Pathologists; all duties related to the preparation, dissection and gross description of surgical specimens of all complexity, while adhering to all established protocols and procedures.

What you'll be doing:
- Prior experience as a Pathologist Assistant
- CoPath and Dragon voice dictation experience an asset
- Understanding of fixation and tissue structure preservation
- Understanding of specimen sampling and impact on subsequent specimen processing
- Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
- Ability to perform tasks and assignments under pressure and time constrictions while remaining calm and composed
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology with emphasis on the pathological presentation of disease
- Strong observational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and independently
- Ability to contribute and work within an interdisciplinary team
- Commitment to professional accountability and high standard of performance
- Computer literacy in windows based applications
- Working knowledge of laboratory safety requirements with a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace
- Ability to prioritize and work independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated problem assessment skills

What you'll bring:
- Current CCCPA Certification is preferred
- Bachelors’ Degree in Science or Medical Laboratory Technologist with advanced level courses in anatomy and physiology
- Graduate of Pathologist Assistant training program preferred
