Pipefitter/Steamfitter

Position Overview

We are seeking a licensed Pipefitter/Steamfitter to join a high-performing maintenance team in a modern manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial piping systems while ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.

The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment where safety, quality, reliability, and continuous improvement are top priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies.
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial piping systems.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment.
Read and interpret blueprints, piping diagrams, technical drawings, and manufacturer specifications.
Install and maintain steam, process, wastewater, heating, cooling, compressed air, gas, and high-pressure piping systems.
Install and maintain instrumentation and control systems.
Coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
Accurately document maintenance work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Support and mentor Pipefitter apprentices as required.
Collaborate with maintenance, production, and other skilled trades to achieve operational goals.

Qualifications

Valid Certificate of Qualification (306A or 307A) as a Pipefitter/Steamfitter.
Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program.
Candidates with significant post-certification experience may also be considered.
Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial piping systems.
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and piping schematics.
Experience with:
- Steam systems
- High-pressure piping
- Process piping
- Heating and cooling systems
- Compressed air and gas systems
- Instrumentation and controls
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Willingness to work rotating shifts, including days, afternoons, and nights.

Preferred Skills

Experience in an automotive or industrial manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and CMMS software.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on safety and operational excellence.
