As demand for our services continues to grow, we are looking for a motivated and solutions-oriented National Operations Coordinator to support the planning and execution of commercial millwork and retail construction projects nationwide.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving problems, and wants to develop into a future Operations or Project Management leader.
About the Role
Every successful project begins long before the installation crew arrives on site.
As the National Operations Coordinator, you will help plan, organize, and support projects from award through completion. You'll coordinate labour, travel, equipment, schedules, and logistics while ensuring our field teams have everything, they need to deliver exceptional results.
You'll work closely with our General Manager, Operations Managers, installation crews, clients, General Contractors, and labour partners to ensure projects remain organized, responsive, profitable, and client focused.
This is a hybrid role combining office coordination with regular site visits and occasional travel throughout Canada.
Following the successful completion of your probationary period, a hybrid work arrangement may be considered.
Primary Responsibilities
Operations Planning & Scheduling
· Assist with estimating and presentation development for opportunities across Canada
- Coordinate labour assignments and installation schedules across Canada.
- Assist with manpower planning and resource allocation.
- Respond quickly to schedule changes while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Coordinate travel, accommodations, and logistics for out-of-town projects.
- Monitor upcoming projects to ensure complete readiness before mobilization.
Project Coordination
- Review project drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
- Assist in determining crew sizes, installation durations, and equipment requirements.
- Prepare project documentation and installation packages.
- Coordinate specialty equipment, rental requirements, and material transfers.
Field Operations Support
- Serve as a primary operational contact for installation crews.
- Help resolve field issues quickly and professionally.
- Coordinate deliveries, site access, equipment, and logistics.
- Escalate significant issues with recommended solutions.
- Conduct site visits to support project execution when required.
Client & General Contractor Relations
- Communicate professionally with clients, General Contractors, consultants, site supervisors, and labour partners.
- Attend site meetings, represent LABOR-INC professionally and share meeting notes with team members as relevant.
- Maintain strong working relationships through proactive communication and responsiveness.
- Build confidence by anticipating challenges and delivering practical solutions.
Operational & Financial Performance
You'll help ensure projects remain:
- On schedule
- Properly staffed
- Operationally efficient
- Financially successful
This includes monitoring labour productivity, supporting cost control initiatives, identifying operational risks early, and helping maintain project profitability while delivering exceptional customer service.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess:
- Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Project Management, Architectural Technology, or a related discipline.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams).
- Valid Ontario Driver's License.
- Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends, sometimes at short notice.
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following is considered an asset:
- Commercial Millwork
- Retail Construction
- Interior Fit-Outs
- Construction Project Coordination
- Site Supervision
- Reading construction drawings and specifications
- Co-op or field construction experience
