In this role, you will be part of a team of Psychiatrists and will provide consults to the pediatric unit, the emergency department, and will have the opportunity to maintain a community based practice. This position offers the flexibility to be part-time or full-time. Duties will include, but not be limited to;

â€¢ Community child and adolescent mental health services in collaboration with the Ministry of Children and Family Development and community mental health services
â€¢ Child & Adolescent Psychiatry community mental health and inpatient services
â€¢ Developmental delay and mental health services
â€¢ Private child and adolescent psychiatry services in the community*options to be discussed further with interested candidates
â€¢ Provide service to KBRHâ€™s 12 bed general adult inpatient unit while providing on call coverage

Our team strives to provide quality psychiatric care to residents throughout the Kootenay Boundary region. Community work would involve supporting family physicians, pediatricians, and child & youth mental health services. Discussion is also underway for the development of a small Child & Adolescent Psychiatry in-patient unit, for which the successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute ideas and feedback.

This role offers teaching opportunities to locally placed UBC students and Family Medicine and Psychiatry residents. Opportunities are also available for those with a desire to pursue an administrative leadership role or further develop a subspecialty area of interest, such as addictions.

The NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program is a comprehensive leadership development program designed specifically for physicians to address the practical leadership knowledge, behaviours and skills that high potential, emerging medical leaders require to step into leadership roles early in their careers.

Eligible for Fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC)
Doctorate in Medicine
Eligible for licensure with CPSBC
Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is mandatory

Call Schedule:

Hours of work: Full Time or Part Time
On call requirements: Participation in the general on call schedule is expected.

Compensation:

Estimated Gross Income

Fee for Service plus Sessional Contract -$300,000 - $500,000, plus MOCAP

Eligible for Fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC);Doctorate in Medicine;Eligible for licensure with CPSBC;Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is mandatory
