Echocardiographer

Staff Housing Available
6-Month Contract with Potential Extension

Curaga Healthcare Group is recruiting an Echocardiographer for a hospital-based opportunity in Northwestern Ontario. This position offers a stable Monday-to-Friday schedule with no regular on-call, weekend, or overtime requirements.

The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary healthcare team and be responsible for coordinating, performing, and evaluating diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations while supporting high-quality patient care in a rural hospital environment.

Assignment Details

Location: Sioux Lookout, Ontario
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Shift Length: 8-hour shifts
Contract Length: 6 months with potential for extension
Housing assistance available
Travel assistance may be available for qualified candidates

Responsibilities

Perform echocardiography examinations in accordance with departmental standards and protocols
Operate and maintain diagnostic cardiac ultrasound equipment safely and effectively
Perform and interpret M-Mode, 2D Echo, and Doppler studies where qualified
Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of examination results
Adhere to accreditation standards, quality assurance processes, and infection prevention practices
Participate in preventative maintenance procedures and equipment quality checks
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to support patient care
Exercise sound clinical judgment and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
Maintain patient confidentiality and professional standards at all times
Promote a safe working environment and comply with all occupational health and safety requirements

Qualifications

Graduate of an approved or accredited Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography or Adult Echocardiography program preferred
Willingness to complete required training to become a licensed Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer/Adult Echocardiographer
Active registration with Sonography Canada and CMRITO considered an asset
Graduate of a two-year health professions diploma or a Bachelor's/Master's degree in a registered health profession, including six credit hours in Human Anatomy and Physiology and six additional health-related credits
Current BLS/CPR certification required
Minimum of three (3) months of previous experience working directly with clients in a healthcare setting preferred
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Strong computer, keyboarding, and documentation skills
Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education
