Location: Remote (Ontario) with weekly on-site attendance in Havelock, Ontario
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our growing administrative team. This is a remote position with the expectation of attending our Havelock office approximately once per week for meetings, training, and team collaboration.
Position Summary
This position is ideal for an experienced Accounts Receivable professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced transportation environment. The successful candidate will manage the full accounts receivable cycle, collections, customer account management, invoicing, and payment processing while ensuring exceptional accuracy and professionalism.
Experience within the transportation, logistics, or shipping industry is considered a strong asset.
Responsibilities
- Manage the complete Accounts Receivable cycle.
- Create accurate customer invoices by matching Bills of Lading (BOLs), shipment documentation, customer orders, and supporting paperwork.
- Perform customer collections professionally while maintaining positive client relationships.
- Monitor customer aging reports and proactively follow up on overdue accounts.
- Apply customer payments and reconcile accounts.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries.
- Maintain accurate customer account records.
- Work within the company's proprietary cloud-based transportation management system.
- Process transactions and maintain records in QuickBooks Online.
- Assist with month-end Accounts Receivable procedures.
- Prepare reports for management as required.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of company and customer financial information.
- Communicate professionally with customers, drivers, dispatch, and internal departments.
Qualifications Required
- Minimum 5 years of Accounts Receivable experience.
- College diploma or degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online.
- Excellent understanding of collections, receivables, invoicing, payment processing, and account reconciliation.
- Outstanding organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional telephone and customer service manner.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and dedicated home office workspace.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation to attend the Havelock office when required.
Preferred
- Experience in transportation, freight, shipping, logistics, or trucking.
- Experience working with Bills of Lading and shipment documentation.
- Experience using cloud-based transportation management software.
- Understanding of federally regulated transportation operations.

Applicants must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Havelock, Ontario, including the Peterborough, Havelock, Belleville, Campbellford, Norwood, Hastings, or surrounding areas.
