Job Overview
We are seeking a Memorial Design Assistant - Graphic Design & Administrative Support to support our memorial design work and help with the day-to-day tasks involved in creating meaningful, personalized memorials for families.
This is a great opportunity for someone with design experience who is creative, organized, detail-oriented, and interested in learning the specialized field of memorial design. The successful candidate will work closely with our memorial designer, assisting with artwork, design preparation, customer and order administration, and general design department support.
Responsibilities
As a Memorial Design Assistant, you will help with a variety of creative and administrative tasks, including:
- Assisting with the creation and preparation of memorial designs and layouts
- Preparing and modifying artwork, lettering, graphics, and design elements
- Making revisions to designs based on customer requests
- Helping prepare designs and artwork for production
- Organizing design files, customer information, and related documentation
- Assisting with customer orders and keeping design projects organized
- Following up on information required to complete designs
- Helping manage multiple designs and orders at different stages of completion
- Checking designs carefully for spelling, dates, dimensions, layout, and other details
- Providing general administrative and creative support to the memorial design department
- Taking on routine design and administrative tasks to help keep projects moving efficiently
- Learning Campbell Monument's design standards, production requirements, and memorial products
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous graphic design, illustration, or related design experience
- Good computer skills and the ability to learn new design software and systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- A good eye for typography, spacing, composition, and visual balance
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- A willingness to learn and take direction
- The ability to work independently once trained
- A respectful and professional approach when working with sensitive subject matter
Experience in the monument or memorial industry is not required. Training will be provided on memorial design, our products, production considerations, and the specific processes used at Campbell Monument.
About the Role
Memorial design is a unique combination of graphic design, craftsmanship, accuracy, product knowledge and customer service. Every project represents an individual or family, so attention to detail and care are extremely important.
This position is intended to work closely alongside our sales team and memorial designer. To gradually take ownership of routine design, artwork, administrative, and project-support tasks. As experience grows, there will be opportunities to handle more and varied design work independently.

Pay: $19.75-$24.00 per hour
