Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional guest services and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This role requires excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently in particular late-night service. Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred to deliver outstanding customer service and support smooth restaurant operations. Position pays hourly plus a tip-out.

Responsibilities:

Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements
Manage reservations and waitlists using POS systems such as Open Table or similar platforms
Manage restaurant capacity limits on a busy Friday and Saturday night.
Checking for ID at the door if necessary.
Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette and provide accurate information about the restaurant
Maintain a clean and organized host stand area
Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and service
Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and feedback courteously
Assist in maintaining a welcoming environment that promotes guest satisfaction
Support other front-of-house duties as needed to ensure seamless restaurant operations

Requirements

Proven experience in guest services, or hospitality roles preferred
Strong communication skills and excellent phone etiquette
Familiarity with POS systems, especially Open Table, is a plus
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly demeanor while upholding our capacity and legal age requirements
Previous restaurant or hotel experience is advantageous but not mandatory
Ability to work evenings on Friday and Saturday nights
