MacKay’s Truck & Trailer Center is growing, and we are looking for skilled and motivated Truck & Transport Technicians to join our team in Truro, Nova Scotia.

Duties include, but are not limited to, diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing components on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers. Responsibilities also include performing routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and safety-related repairs to ensure vehicles are operating efficiently and in compliance with industry standards.
Successful candidates will be expected to manage their time effectively, maintain accurate repair documentation, and communicate clearly with service advisors, parts personnel, and the foreman regarding the status of assigned work. Delivering exceptional customer service through quality workmanship, attention to detail, and the timely completion of repairs is essential.
Technicians are required to follow all company safety policies and procedures, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and contribute to a positive, professional, and team-oriented workplace culture.
Experience:
- Canadian Red Seal Truck & Transport Technician certification, or registered Truck & Transport Apprentice (3rd Block or higher) with relevant industry experience
- Red Seal certification in Heavy Equipment or Automotive Service Technician trades is considered an asset
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proven diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship
- Demonstrated ability to follow technical procedures, manufacturer specifications, and safety standards
- Relevant trade-related safety training and a willingness to continuously learn and adapt to evolving technologies and equipment systems
- Additional skills and certifications in welding, cutting, fabrication, or related trades are considered an asset
- Experience and training on Cummins engine systems, as well as Mack and Volvo products, are highly desirable
- Mack and/or Volvo Master Technician certification is considered a strong asset
- Valid Class 1 driver's license is considered an asset
