We are looking for a Distribution Planner in Distribution Center Operations that will be responsible for planning of inventory deployment from our distribution center to our customers ensuring optimal deployment of resources to maximize service level and minimize cost.

Reponsibilities:
· Build the distribution forecast for each network location by based on the customer distribution map.
· Determine most efficient and economical route, ensure full truckload shipments to meet customer service requirements and minimize deployment costs.
· Adjust allocation plans and loads as required to respond to schedule changes, inventory levels, unexpected customer demand and carrier availability.
· Analyze daily capacity shortages and advise the Planning Manager and Facilities Manager of the root cause of the issue.
· Review previous day's loads for success and failures and provide metrics. Initiate investigations into causes of damages or shortages of consignments.
· Identify upcoming shortages and take action to mitigate by transferring stocks, expediting inbound shipments and other available options.
· Organize and consolidate shipments into delivery runs to facilitate improved transit times and customer service while reducing transportation expense.
· Analyze existing shipping processes for possible improvements and provides support for various implementation plans.
· Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations.
Requirements/Qualifications:
· Minimum 1 years’ experience in distribution/ load planning in fast-paced warehouse environment or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
· University Degree/ Diploma in Planning/ Operations/ Supply Chain/ Logistics and/ or Business Management would be an asset.
· Must have experience working on Transportation Management Systems such as JDA.
· Ability to work in a variety of climates and conditions; warehouse facilities that are hot in the summer and cold in the winter.
· Ability to lift and/ or move up to 50 lbs.
· Able to work in multicultural environment & in different shifts if required.
· Availability to work flexible hours to meet the business needs as required.
· Ability to work in a team environment while delivering independent results.
· Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
· Must have ability to work efficiently with time management and organizational skills with follow-up and follow through.
· Ability to find root-cause of the problem, and troubleshoot independently.
· Ability to drive process improvement and lead change.
· Must demonstrate ownership & responsibility for running the operation with a sense of urgency.
· Strong written/oral communication including the ability to present in front of others, and demonstrate active listening skills are required.
