Within the context of a patient/client and family-centred framework and continuum-based care model and in accordance with established standards of professional practice and the vision, values and policies of the organization, position performs clinical Audiology services including assessments, diagnoses and treatments for eligible patients with hearing loss and balance disorders. Completes patient reports; educates patients/families; provides counseling and consultation services and presents lectures. Participates in patient rounds, risk management and research activities. Provides leadership to new employees, Audiology/Speech-Language Pathology students and ENT residents.

Qualifications:
Education & Experience

Current full registration as an Audiologist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Demonstrated ability to conduct and interpret Audiology assessments.

Demonstrated knowledge of hearing loss and associated causes.

Demonstrated ability to apply systems theory to practice in Audiology assessments and interventions.

Comprehensive knowledge of equipment and material used in the assessment and treatment of hearing disorders.

Basic knowledge of other health disciplines and their role in healthcare.

Basic knowledge of adult education principles, methods and tools.

Demonstrated ability to gather relevant data and make a multi-dimensional assessment.

Broad knowledge of research processes and methodology.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.

Demonstrated ability to provide effective consultation.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
