As a Meat Counter Clerk at Cioffi’s, you will be the friendly face that welcomes customers and provides an exceptional checkout experience. You’ll handle transactions with care, assist with inquiries, and ensure customers leave feeling valued and appreciated. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys customer interaction, has strong communication skills, and thrives in a fast-paced retail environment.
What You Will Do:
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service
- Operate the cash register accurately and efficiently
- Process cash, debit, credit, and gift card transactions
- Assist customers with product questions and direct them to relevant departments
- Bag groceries and ensure items are handled with care
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
- Manage line flow and ensure a smooth, efficient checkout experience
- Restock front-end items such as bags, registers, and impulse products
- Follow store policies and cash-handling procedures
- Support the team with additional front-end or store tasks when needed
What You Have:
- Strong understanding of traditional Italian meats, food preparation, and cooking methods
- Familiarity with Italian grocery items, including imported and specialty products
- Ideally, a passion for Italian cuisine and willingness to share product knowledge with customers
- Previous experience in a meat market, deli, or specialty food store preferred
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Reliable, punctual, and a positive team player
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed
