Overview
We are seeking a skilled and responsible Charter Boat Captain to lead recreational boating excursions and ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for all passengers. The ideal candidate will possess strong navigational skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to manage vessel operations effectively. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about boating and marine safety to showcase their expertise in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Safely operate and navigate the charter vessel, adhering to all maritime laws and safety regulations
Plan and coordinate daily trips, including route planning and scheduling
Oversee passenger boarding, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
Conduct routine inspections of the vessel’s equipment and systems, including rigging and mechanical components
Perform basic troubleshooting of mechanical systems to ensure optimal vessel performance
Manage crew members if applicable, delegating tasks as needed for efficient operations
Maintain detailed logs of trips, safety checks, and vessel maintenance activities
Respond promptly to emergencies or unforeseen situations with professionalism and composure

Qualifications

Valid license with appropriate endorsements for a 37 ft motorboat
Proven experience operating boats similar in size and complexity to the charter vessel
Excellent navigational skills with familiarity in maritime charts, GPS, and communication equipment
Ability to perform basic troubleshooting on mechanical systems
Exceptional communication skills with a focus on customer service and safety instructions
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
Prior experience in a leadership or crew management role is preferred

This role is ideal for motivated individuals committed to providing memorable boating experiences while prioritizing safety. Candidates should be passionate about marine environments and possess the technical skills necessary to operate vessels confidently.

Pay: $30.00-$50.00 per hour
