Career Contacts is a full-service HR and Recruitment Consulting Firm headquartered in Vancouver, BC, and we are currently searching for an AI Solutions Intern to join our team. This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented individual who enjoys solving practical problems, exploring new technology, and finding smarter ways to get things done. Reporting to the President and CEO, the successful candidate will bring strong analytical and communication skills, curiosity about AI tools and automation, and a willingness to test, iterate, and improve processes across the recruitment lifecycle.
Start Date: January 2027
Hours: 15-20 hours per week
Job Type: Part-time, temporary (4-month contract from January-April 2027)
Compensation: $21 - $23 per hour, based on experience
Location: Downtown Vancouver, BC (hybrid model, in-office on Tuesdays and Thursdays)

What You'll Be Responsible For:
- Identify manual, repetitive tasks across our recruitment and HR workflows (candidate screening, scheduling, sourcing, reporting, etc.) that could be automated or streamlined using AI tools
- Research, test, and recommend AI tools and platforms that could improve efficiency across the recruitment lifecycle
- Support the development and implementation of AI-assisted workflows for tasks such as resume screening, candidate outreach, interview scheduling, and job posting creation
- Help build and maintain templates, prompts, and automation scripts the team can use day-to-day
- Assist with data organization and cleanup to ensure AI tools have accurate, usable inputs
- Document new processes and provide basic training/support to team members adopting new tools
- Track and report on time savings or efficiency gains from implemented automations
- Stay current on emerging AI and recruitment-tech trends and flag relevant opportunities to the team
- Collaborate with the President & CEO and recruitment consultants to understand pain points and prioritize automation projects
What You'll Bring:
- Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, a program in Computer Science, Data Science, Business, Human Resources, or a related field
- Prior hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar) is required
- Experience with automation platforms (e.g., Zapier, Make, Power Automate) is an asset
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to spot inefficiencies and think through practical solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical ideas to a non-technical audience
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- A self-starter mindset, comfortable working independently and taking initiative on projects
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-facing environment
- Prior experience or coursework in HR, recruitment, or people operations is an asset but not required
