Full job description

NOVA is looking for passionate and motivated Line Cooks / Dishwashers/ Prep cook to join our growing culinary team. We are seeking individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen and take pride in delivering consistently exceptional food. This position is ideal for individuals with minimum 1 year of professional kitchen experience who are eager to develop their skills while working in a collaborative and professional environment.

What You'll Do

Prepare, cook, and plate menu items to NOVA's recipes, specifications, and presentation standards.
Set up and organize your station before each service to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Assist with daily prep work, including cutting, portioning, marinating, and stocking ingredients.
Maintain consistency, quality, and attention to detail on every dish served.
Work efficiently during lunch, dinner, and peak service periods while maintaining composure under pressure.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP procedures to ensure a clean and safe kitchen.
Keep your workstation clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout your shift.
Minimize food waste and use ingredients responsibly.
Communicate effectively with chefs and fellow team members to maintain a smooth service flow.
Assist with receiving, rotating, and storing inventory using proper FIFO procedures.
Support fellow kitchen team members wherever needed to ensure an exceptional guest experience.

What We're Looking For

Minimum 1 year of experience in a professional restaurant kitchen, preferably in a high-volume environment.
Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen organization.
Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling practices.
Ability to work quickly and efficiently without compromising quality.
Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and currently reside in British Columbia.
