As we continue to grow, we are seeking a hands-on Supply Chain & Inventory Manager to help strengthen our inventory management, logistics coordination, warehouse operations, and overall supply chain performance.
Position Summary
The Supply Chain & Inventory Manager is responsible for supporting and improving inventory control, logistics, warehouse operations, and supply chain processes across The Power Group of Companies.
The primary focus of this role is inventory management and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, improving inventory visibility, coordinating freight and logistics activities, supporting warehouse operations, and implementing practical process improvements that contribute to the overall success of the business.
This is a hands-on management role. We are looking for someone who is equally comfortable reviewing inventory reports, working within ERP systems, coordinating logistics, and spending time on the warehouse floor to understand and improve day-to-day operations.
The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and willing to roll up their sleeves when necessary to get the job done.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management & Control
- Maintain and improve inventory accuracy across all warehouse locations.
- Develop and manage inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Coordinate and participate in cycle counts and inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and stock variances.
- Monitor inventory levels and identify replenishment requirements.
- Assist in forecasting inventory needs and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
- Analyze inventory turns, slow-moving inventory, and obsolete inventory.
- Develop inventory reporting, dashboards, and key performance metrics.
- Work closely with operations, sales, and management teams to improve inventory planning and visibility.
- Identify opportunities to reduce inventory carrying costs while maintaining service levels.
Logistics & Freight Management
- Coordinate inbound and outbound freight activities.
- Coordinate domestic and international freight movements, including truck, rail, and ocean freight shipments.
- Assist in managing import logistics, container movements, customs documentation, and inbound freight coordination.
- Manage relationships with freight carriers, brokers, and logistics providers.
- Obtain freight quotations and support transportation purchasing activities.
- Monitor freight costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Coordinate transportation schedules and delivery performance.
- Support domestic and cross-border shipping activities.
- Assist in developing transportation strategies that improve service and reduce costs.
Warehouse Operations Support
- Work closely with warehouse personnel to support efficient day-to-day operations.
- Assist in improving receiving, storage, picking, shipping, and inventory handling processes.
- Support warehouse layout improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Ensure inventory control procedures are consistently followed.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, organized, and productive warehouse environment.
- Provide hands-on support when operational needs require it.
- Help establish processes, systems, and structure as the business continues to grow.
Supply Chain Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory, logistics, and warehouse processes.
- Assist in developing and documenting standard operating procedures.
- Support ERP system improvements and inventory management initiatives.
- Help implement systems and controls that improve operational performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve overall supply chain efficiency.
- Participate in special projects and operational improvement initiatives.
Purchasing & Procurement Support
- Support inventory replenishment activities and purchasing coordination.
- Assist with procurement of freight services, operational supplies, equipment, and other business requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance and support vendor communications when required.
- Work with purchasing personnel to ensure inventory objectives are achieved.
- Support continuous improvement of purchasing and inventory management processes.
Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in inventory management, logistics, warehouse operations, purchasing, supply chain, or related operational roles.
- Strong understanding of inventory control principles and inventory management best practices.
- Experience working with ERP systems and inventory management software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between company locations when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, building materials, industrial products, or construction-related industries.
- Experience coordinating domestic and international freight movements.
- Experience with ocean freight, container shipments, customs documentation, and import logistics is considered a strong asset.
- Experience in warehouse operations and inventory control environments is considered an asset.
- Experience leading small teams, projects, or operational initiatives.
- Experience conducting inventory counts, audits, and inventory reconciliation.
- Experience improving warehouse and operational processes.
- Familiarity with inventory forecasting and demand planning concepts.
- Forklift certification or previous warehouse experience is considered an asset.

This position is expected to spend time both in the office and in our warehouse and operational environments. The successful candidate must be comfortable working directly with inventory, warehouse personnel, and operational processes as required.

Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary of $70,000–$85,000 per year, based on experience.

Reporting Structure
The Supply Chain & Inventory Manager will work closely with and receive direction from the Director of Operations, Controller, and Ownership Team.
This role serves as a key link between operations, inventory management, logistics, warehousing, purchasing, and financial controls. The successful candidate will collaborate across departments to ensure inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and alignment with company objectives.
As The Power Group of Companies continues to grow, additional leadership responsibilities and direct reports may be added to this role.
Pay: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
