Mobile Crane Operator | New Vanderhoof Branch
Looking for a genuine ground-floor opportunity with a company expanding into northern British Columbia?
Cranemax Hoisting is establishing a permanent operational branch in Vanderhoof and is seeking a skilled Mobile Crane Operator who wants to help build a strong local presence from day one.
You will be based right in Vanderhoof and operate a diverse modern fleet that includes large boom trucks, Liebherr rough-terrain cranes, and newer Liebherr all-terrain cranes. The work covers a solid mix of industrial, resource-sector, and infrastructure projects throughout the region — with the major advantage of a local yard instead of long mobilizations.
This is a true startup-branch role. You will have the chance to help shape systems, deliver reliable service, and establish Cranemax as a trusted local provider in a busy and growing market.
What the role involves
- Operating large boom trucks and Liebherr RT / AT cranes across a variety of industrial and resource sites
- Performing complex lifts including modules, structural components, transformers, and maintenance loads
- Supporting planned projects, shutdowns, and responsive call-outs
- Completing thorough pre-operational inspections and accurate field documentation
- Maintaining high professional and safety standards in northern BC conditions
What you bring
- Valid BC Crane Safety registration and certification for mobile crane or boom truck operation (Red Seal preferred)
- Class 1 or Class 3 driver’s licence with air brake endorsement and a clean abstract
- Proven experience operating boom trucks and mobile hydraulic cranes in industrial or resource environments
- Comfortable working on remote roads, variable sites, and in northern weather
- Strong load-chart, rigging, and communication skills
- A professional, safety-first mindset and the initiative to help build a new operation
Why this role
This is more than just another operator position. It is a rare chance to get in on the ground floor of a new permanent branch, help win the local book of work, and grow with the company as it establishes a foothold in the area. Local candidates who want to be part of building something lasting are strongly encouraged to apply.
We offer competitive compensation based on experience and certifications, overtime opportunities, modern equipment, and real variety of work.
If you are a professional operator looking for meaningful responsibility and the opportunity to help launch a new northern operation, we want to hear from you.
Apply with your resume and current certifications.
