Westridge Security Ltd. and Mountain Eagle Security are seeking qualified and reliable Security Officers to join our wildfire and emergency-response deployment team.
We support wildfire and emergency operations across British Columbia and have previously provided security services for organizations and agencies including the BC Wildfire Service, Ministry of Forests, local Fire Departments, regional districts, and other emergency-response partners.
As wildfire season continues, we are building a pool of qualified security officers who are available for deployment on short notice to support wildfire camps, emergency operations, evacuation areas, facilities, equipment yards, and other locations requiring security services.
This is an excellent opportunity for security professionals who are willing to travel and want to participate in emergency-response security operations across British Columbia.
Position Responsibilities
Depending on the assignment, duties may include:
- Providing static security at wildfire camps, facilities, equipment yards, and other designated locations
- Controlling access to restricted areas
- Monitoring personnel, vehicles, equipment, and site activity
- Conducting patrols as assigned
- Maintaining a visible security presence
- Responding to incidents and emergencies in accordance with company procedures
- Completing detailed daily activity reports and incident reports
- Communicating professionally with emergency personnel, contractors, government representatives, and members of the public
- Following all client, company, health and safety, and emergency-response procedures
- Working in remote, rural, and challenging environments
- Remaining professional and adaptable as conditions and operational requirements change
Compensation
- $20.00 per hour
- Overtime after 8 hours, in accordance with applicable employment legislation
- Travel time paid at $18.25 per hour
- Mileage reimbursement at $0.45 per kilometre
- $50 emergency/last-minute deployment incentive for qualifying short-notice assignments (Less than 8 hours notice)
Assignments may involve extended shifts, travel, remote locations, and deployment on relatively short notice.
Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Hold a valid BC Security Worker Licence
- Have reliable transportation to the designated departure or deployment location
- Be willing and able to travel for work assignments
- Be available for short-notice deployments when possible
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be reliable, professional, and capable of working independently
- Be able to complete accurate written reports
- Be physically capable of working outdoors and in varying weather conditions
- Be comfortable working in remote or unfamiliar environments
- Have a valid driver's licence where required for the assignment
Previous experience in any of the following is considered an asset:
- Wildfire or emergency-response security
- Remote-site security
- Industrial or construction security
- Camp security
- Access control
- Emergency management operations
- Military, law enforcement, or first-responder environments
Deployment Availability
We are particularly interested in applicants who may be available for:
- Short-notice deployments
- Multi-day or extended assignments
- Travel throughout British Columbia
- Wildfire and emergency-response operations
- Remote and rural security assignments
We are building a pre-qualified deployment pool so that qualified officers can be contacted quickly when wildfire or emergency-response security opportunities arise.
