Join KPMG’s Accounting Advisory Services team, where you’ll support clients with core finance operations and controllership activities. In this role, you’ll work closely with private and public companies across industries to help maintain accurate financial records, support reporting processes, and strengthen financial controls.
You’ll be part of a collaborative team providing hands-on support across core accounting and financial reporting functions, including bookkeeping, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, month‑end, quarter-end and year‑end close, and preparation of financial statements under IFRS, US GAAP, and ASPE. Your work will help ensure timely, reliable financial information that management and stakeholders can depend on.
This role is well suited for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys hands‑on work, takes ownership of assigned deliverables, and works closely with client finance teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information. You’ll communicate clearly with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders and help translate accounting requirements into efficient, well‑documented processes. The position offers exposure to a range of organizations and opportunities to deepen your controllership skills, operational accounting expertise, and client relationship experience.
What you will do:

As a Senior Accountant you will be required to:

Perform day‑to‑day accounting and controllership activities for private and public company clients across various industries

Execute bookkeeping, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy

Support month‑end and year‑end close processes, including preparation of working papers and financial statements

Apply practical accounting knowledge under IFRS, US GAAP, and ASPE to routine and recurring reporting matters

Work with a variety of accounting systems and general ledger platforms, adapting quickly to different client environments

Identify reconciling items, errors, and process gaps, and escalate issues and observations to Senior Managers or Managers as appropriate

Liaise with client finance teams to obtain information, clarify balances, and support smooth close processes

Contribute to engagement documentation and assist in maintaining organized, well‑supported files
What you bring to this role:
- Post-secondary degree required
-
3-5 years of experience in audit and/or accounting advisory and/or industry.

Hands‑on experience in operational accounting, bookkeeping, and account reconciliations

Practical, working knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, and/or ASPE

Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.

High adaptability and comfort operating in a fast-paced environment.

A reliable, execution‑focused mindset with strong ownership over assigned deliverables

Experience working with multiple accounting systems and ERPs (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar) preferred
KPMG Ontario Pay Range Information
The expected base salary range for this position is $66,500 to $101,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills, & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
