Full job description

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the purchasing process, coordinating with suppliers and site teams, issuing and tracking Purchase Orders (POs), and ensuring materials and services are delivered on time to support active construction projects.

Responsibilities:

· Prepare, issue, and manage Purchase Orders for construction materials, rentals, equipment, and services

· Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, superintendents, and site staff regarding purchasing requirements

· Obtain pricing, quotes, and lead times from suppliers and subcontractors

· Negotiate pricing and maintain strong vendor relationships

· Track outstanding orders and ensure timely delivery to jobsites

· Follow up aggressively on missing PO backups, approvals, and delivery confirmations

· Maintain accurate procurement tracking sheets and purchasing records

· Ensure all procurement documentation is uploaded and organized properly

· Coordinate with accounting regarding invoice matching, discrepancies, and vendor statements

· Assist in monitoring project purchasing budgets and cost controls

· Resolve supplier issues, shortages, backorders, and delivery delays promptly

Qualifications:

· Minimum 3 years of construction purchasing or procurement experience required

· Strong knowledge of construction materials, rentals, and vendor coordination

· Experience handling high-volume Purchase Orders in a fast-paced construction environment

· Strong negotiation and communication skills

· Excellent organizational and follow-up abilities

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and procurement tracking systems

· Experience with QuickBooks or construction accounting systems is considered an asset

· Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

Compensation:

· Salary: CAD $55,000–$65,000 annually, based on experience

· Full-time permanent position

Candidates with prior construction industry procurement experience will be given priority consideration.

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
