Overview

Join our vibrant bakery team as a Bakery Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help create delightful baked goods and provide exceptional customer service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, creative environment focused on quality, food safety, and customer satisfaction. As a Bakery Assistant, you will play a vital part in supporting daily bakery operations, ensuring products are prepared, packaged, and presented with care and precision.

Duties

Assist in preparing a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, and cakes, following established recipes and standards.
Decorate cakes and pastries with skillful cake decorating techniques to enhance visual appeal.
Support food preparation tasks such as mixing, measuring ingredients, and assembling baked items.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery workspace to meet food safety regulations.
Package baked goods securely for display or customer purchase, ensuring freshness and presentation quality.
Provide friendly and attentive customer service by answering questions about products and offering recommendations.
Follow all food handling and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers.

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant or food industry setting is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm to learn is essential.
Knowledge of baking techniques, cake decorating, and food preparation is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of food safety standards and proper food handling practices.
Experience with kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking, packaging, and maintaining cleanliness.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
Ability to stand for extended periods while performing physical tasks such as lifting ingredients or baked goods.
A proactive attitude with a passion for baking, food industry trends, and creating a welcoming environment.
