Job Title: Operations Manager, Salmon Arm
Start Date: August 2026
Status: Full-time
Compensation: $85,000 to $110,000 per year (combination of salary + commission)

The Role
As the Manager of Salmon Arm operations, you are responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and performance of the location. You will oversee day-to-day activities across all departments, including support of the sales team through local leadership, aligned with the direction of the General Sales Manager, ensuring accountability, consistency, and strong execution.
Working closely with the General Manager and Gibbons Motor Toys’ Senior Leadership Team, you will support the implementation of business strategies and drive operational initiatives that contribute to sales growth, service excellence, and overall store performance.
This role requires a strong leader who can effectively coordinate multiple functional areas, support and develop department managers, and maintain a high standard of customer experience. You will play a key role in building a high-performing team, reinforcing accountability, and ensuring the location operates efficiently while continuing to grow and improve.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day operations of all departments within the Salmon Arm location, ensuring alignment across parts, service, and sales, with the sales function operating under the direction of the General Sales Manager. Coordinate activities to maintain efficiency, meet service timelines, and ensure consistent execution across the business.
Maintain a strong working knowledge of all store functions and step in to support operations as needed, ensuring continuity during staffing or workload challenges.
People Leadership: Lead a team of department managers, supporting their development while holding them accountable to performance expectations. Conduct performance planning, provide ongoing feedback, and address underperformance through coaching, development, and clear direction.
Support hiring and selection processes for direct reports in collaboration with HR and the General Manager. Lead regular communication meetings to ensure all staff understand priorities, expectations, and business objectives.
Business Performance: Monitor financial and operational results, reviewing performance with department managers to drive accountability and continuous improvement. Track key performance indicators and support alignment with pricing, margin, and profitability objectives.
Contribute to business growth by identifying opportunities within parts, service, and overall store operations, and supporting initiatives that improve revenue, efficiency, and overall performance.
Customer Experience & Relationship Management: Support all departments in delivering a consistent, high-quality customer experience by ensuring enquiries are handled promptly and professionally. Coach team members to understand customer needs, anticipate opportunities, and build long-term relationships.
Handle complex or escalated customer concerns with professionalism and confidence, reinforcing Gibbons Motor Toys’ commitment to superior service standards.
Process Improvement, Facilities & Safety: Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and support the implementation of initiatives that enhance efficiency, workflow, and overall effectiveness.
Ensure all health and safety standards are followed, and that facilities, yards, and retail spaces are maintained to a high standard, reflecting the professionalism of the business.

- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and experience using inventory and CRM systems
- Industry experience in marine is an asset
