Why Vernon
Vernon is one of those rare places where you can practice high-quality medicine and actually enjoy your life outside the clinic. You get a welcoming community, a calmer pace, and the kind of Okanagan lifestyle people move here for — lakes, beaches, skiing, hiking, wineries, and space to breathe. With short commutes, strong schools, and Kelowna International Airport close by, you stay connected without dealing with big-city congestion. It’s an ideal setting for physicians who want meaningful clinical work and a life that puts family and well-being at the centre.

Why This Model Works
Key Advantages for Physicians:
- Significant Reduction in Overhead Costs: You practice without the traditional financial burden of running a standalone clinic.
- Flexibility in Scheduling: With the pharmacy open 7 days a week and pharmacists always on duty, you can set your own schedule within the weekly operation, balancing your workload while ensuring patient continuity.
- Proven Success: This team-based model is already thriving at our current location, with strong patient demand and physician satisfaction.
For Patients:
- One-Stop Convenience: See their Nurse Practitioner, get a diagnosis, and fill prescriptions in one place.
- Improved Adherence: On-site access makes it easier to start and continue treatment.
- Enhanced Safety & Coordination: Real-time collaboration between prescriber and pharmacist reduces errors.
- Stronger Relationships: Patients get consistent support from a familiar team of caregivers.
For You as a Nurse Practitioner:
- Collaborative Care Environment: Work hand-in-hand with pharmacists and allied health staff — immediate input, shared decision-making, and stronger outcomes.
- Streamlined Workflow: Less time spent on callbacks and insurance issues, more time with patients.
- Better Patient Outcomes: With adherence and medication management built in, your patients’ health is better controlled.
- Growth Potential: Options for revenue participation through pharmacy services (MTM, shared models).
- Patient Loyalty: Integrated services and team support drive long-term trust and retention.
Practice Model
- Team-Based Approach: Care is delivered collaboratively with Medical Doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and support staff — no silos, no working in isolation.
- Walk-In Care: Timely access for urgent and unscheduled visits.
- Appointment-Based Care: Build continuity with patients through ongoing visits.
- EMR & Data Access: Shared patient records for full context and safer care.
