Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Purchasing Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the procurement process, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the efficient sourcing of materials and services. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in supply chain management and the ability to negotiate effectively. The Senior Purchasing Manager will work closely with various departments to align purchasing strategies with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with company objectives.
Manage the procurement process for materials, supplies, and services necessary for operations.
Oversee vendor management, including selection, evaluation, and performance monitoring.
Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to secure favorable terms.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand and optimize inventory levels using MRP systems.
Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to purchasing activities.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information within SAP systems.
Lead sourcing initiatives to identify new suppliers capable of meeting quality standards while reducing costs.
Provide training and support to junior purchasing staff as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, ideally in a senior role.
Strong understanding of vendor management practices and sourcing strategies.
Proficiency in SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is required.
Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of achieving favorable outcomes.
Ability to analyze data effectively to inform purchasing decisions.
Knowledge of International shipping/receiving and customs procedures.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams on fabrication needs is a plus.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
