The Impact You'll Make
As a Red Seal Mechanic with BMT, you'll be at the heart of our Service Department, driving our reputation for excellence. You'll build strong, trusting relationships and play a pivotal role in keeping commercial transport vehicles running safely and efficiently across Vancouver Island.
Here’s how you'll make a difference:
- Master Diagnostics: You'll be the expert, performing advanced diagnostics to meticulously investigate and pinpoint the root causes of complex vehicle issues.
- Precision Repairs: Tackle major repairs on diverse vehicle components and systems, including brakes, suspension, drive train, transmissions, engines, emissions, and electrical systems, all while adhering to the highest dealership and factory standards.
- Safety & Compliance: Conduct crucial Commercial Vehicle Inspections (CVSE), preventative maintenance (PMs), pre-delivery inspections (PDI), and annual checks, ensuring every vehicle meets rigorous safety standards.
- Problem Solver on the Go: Be ready to respond to emergency and field service calls, bringing your expertise directly to where it's needed.
- Collaborate & Innovate: Engage with external manufacturers' technical support for complex diagnostics, sharing your insights and continuously learning.
- Drive Excellence: Road test vehicles to validate repairs and ensure peak performance, maintaining a safe and impeccably clean work environment.
- Mentor & Grow: Share your technical expertise with customers and fellow technicians, and participate in cutting-edge manufacturer-sponsored training programs to stay at the forefront of the industry.
- Detail-Oriented Documentation: Accurately document all work, ensuring thorough records for repairs and warranty claims.
What We're Looking For
You're more than just a mechanic; you're a problem-solver, a team player, and a dedicated professional.
- Certified & Experienced: You hold a Red Seal Mechanic certification in Commercial Transport, Heavy Duty, or Automotive trade, with 2+ years of hands-on experience.
- Driving Credentials: A Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract is essential.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient with computer systems for diagnostics, accessing manuals, and seamless job report documentation.
- Adaptable & Customer-Focused: You can adeptly manage multiple demands and shifting priorities, ensuring responsive and flexible service to address any issue.
- Safety & Compliance Pro: You possess a strong understanding of and adherence to provincial Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (CVSE) standards and Federal Motor Vehicle Act regulations.
