Who We Are
Hofmann Construction Ltd. has been building and renovating homes on the Saanich Peninsula since 2007. Led by Red Seal carpenter Paul Hofmann, we take on custom homes, additions, full-home renovations, and outdoor structures for clients who care about craftsmanship and want a builder they can trust completely.
We run our business open-book, real-time budgets, honest numbers, and no surprises for our clients. That only works because of the people who represent us on site every day. We're a small, owner-operated company by design, and we intend to stay that way: every project gets our full attention, and every person on our team plays a real role in the outcome.
We build strong, lasting relationships with our clients, and with the architects, designers, and trades we work alongside. That reputation is the foundation of our business, and it's why we're careful about who joins the team.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for an experienced carpenter who's ready to grow into a bigger leadership role. This is a working carpentry position first, you'll be building alongside our team, learning how we run our jobs and how we work with our clients and trades. As trust builds, we'd like to see this person take on more: helping run the crew, more day-to-day client contact, and eventually stepping into a site supervisor role.
Above all, we're looking for the right person, not just the right resume. You should be approachable, positive, and genuinely good with people, someone who communicates clearly, takes feedback in stride, and works well with both the crew and the people we build for. Craftsmanship matters enormously to us, and so does the kind of person you are on site.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has strong, proven residential carpentry experience
- Is interested in growing into crew leadership and site supervision
- Reads plans confidently and understands residential construction sequencing
- Is friendly and easy to talk to with homeowners, designers, and subtrades
- Is calm and approachable under pressure, someone who works through challenges collaboratively.
- Takes real pride in quality work and the overall client experience, not just getting the job done
- Is organized, dependable, and shows up ready to work
We love what we do, and we're looking for someone who does too.
Red Seal certification is an asset but not required. Reliable transportation, a valid driver's licence, and your own basic hand tools are expected.
What We Offer
Steady, full-time work with a Monday-to-Friday schedule, competitive pay, vacation pay and statutory sick days, and direct communication with the owners, no layers of management between you and the people making decisions. We're a small team building a strong reputation on quality and trust, and there's real room to grow into a bigger leadership and project coordination role as we do.
Pay: $45.00-$70.00 per hour
