Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential and light commercial settings, working under the supervision of a certified Journeyperson Electrician. Your expertise will help ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality electrical work that meets all industry standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from new installations to repairs, while continuing to build your technical skills and hands-on experience. This role is crucial in delivering optimal comfort and safety to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Assist with installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing electrical components of HVAC systems under the supervision of a Journeyperson Electrician.
- Support work to ensure compliance with the current Canadian Electrical Code and local regulations.
- Collaborate with HVAC technicians and electricians to integrate electrical systems seamlessly.
- Assist in presenting findings and options to customers, providing support as needed/requested.
- Identify and suggest opportunities for quality and cost improvements.
- Assist in completing approved repairs, improvements, or installations in a timely and efficient manner.
- Complete warranty paperwork/digital forms as required by manufacturers.
- Collect payment for work performed.
- Follow up through dispatching software for invoicing and future job needs.
- Ensure complete customer satisfaction upon completion of work.
- Actively participate in apprenticeship training hours and continued skills development toward Journeyperson certification.
Job Requirements
- Registered Electrical Apprentice with Skilled Trades BC.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in residential electrical work, preferably within the HVAC industry.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record, with the ability to be bonded.
- Ability to lift 50lbs, bend, kneel, squat, and work comfortably on ladders and in confined spaces.
- Proficiency with technology, including iPads and service software.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Neat and clean appearance at all times.
- Team player with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
