Full job description

Overview

Island Precision Manufacturing is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will operate a variety of woodworking and CNC machinery, including panel saws, CNC equipment, and edge banders while ensuring high-quality production and workplace safety standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong mechanical aptitude and manufacturing experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain panel saws, CNC machinery, edge banders, and other production equipment with accuracy and efficiency
Set up and adjust machines according to production specifications and work orders
Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specifications
Perform quality control inspections using calipers, measuring tools, and hand tools
Monitor machinery during operation and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues as required
Conduct routine maintenance and ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently
Assist with assembly, packaging, material handling, and warehouse support as needed
Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment when required
Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all workplace safety procedures
Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and quality standards

Qualifications

Previous experience operating CNC machines, panel saws, edge banders, or similar manufacturing equipment
Experience with CNC programming and Fanuc controls is considered an asset
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks is an asset
Experience with press brake machines, welding, or assembly work is beneficial
Forklift certification or warehouse experience is considered an asset
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Basic math and measurement skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
