We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Property Management Accounting Specialist to join our Property Management team. This role is responsible for the financial administration and accounting functions of a growing residential property management portfolio. The successful candidate will oversee trust accounting, landlord reporting, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and administrative processes that support the day-to-day operations of the division.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting, excellent organizational skills, and experience working within a property management or real estate environment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and exceptional service to property owners and internal stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Management
- Manage and execute all accounting and administrative processes for the Property Management Division.
- Prepare and reconcile monthly landlord statements and year-end owner reporting.
- Perform monthly bank account and trust account reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports for the Property Management Division.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as required.
- Monitor and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Property Management Administration
- Maintain records for all managed properties and landlord agreements.
- Track landlord contracts, renewals, and related documentation.
- Set up and remove properties within property management software systems.
- Support Property Managers with accounting-related inquiries, reporting, and operational needs.
- Ensure all property files and records are complete, organized, and up to date.
Trust Accounting & Compliance
- Administer trust accounting procedures and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- File and track non-resident tax withholdings.
- Process tax remittances and prepare year-end tax reporting slips.
- Assist with internal audits and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of financial and client information.
QualificationsEducation & Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting responsibilities.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience within the property management, real estate, or financial services industry is considered an asset.
Technical Skills
- Experience with property management accounting software, preferably Yardi Breeze.
- Familiarity with online business banking platforms for rent collection, payments, and account management.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Teams.

Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
