The Royal BC Museum is located on the traditional territory of the Lekwungen peoples, known today as the Songhees and Xwsepsum Nations.
Department Overview
IMAX® Victoria offers immersive cinematic experiences through educational documentaries and Hollywood feature films, working in tandem with the Royal BC Museum to deliver inspiring and engaging programs and events.
IMAX® Victoria is responsible for the design and delivery of an annual film program that supports the RBCM mandate and corporate revenue targets. This includes educational documentaries, feature films, annual film festival, private theatre events and supports local Canadian filmmakers.
Front of House includes management of a Theatre, Concession Stand, Gift Shop and Box Office. Our Front of House team is responsible for delivering a professional, inclusive and engaging experience for all visitors including general public, schools, government officials, cultural groups and community partners.
Job Overview
The Guest Services Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations and performance of the concession and theatre front-of-house team. Key responsibilities include managing guest experience, staff schedules, ordering and inventory and overall front-of-house performance.
This position maintains an active operational presence on the floor, providing supervision and support to staff while balancing weekly administrative responsibilities. While overseeing floor operations, the Supervisor monitors daily performance to ensure established processes, procedures, and service standards are consistently followed.
The Supervisor works closely with the Theatre Manager to support operational objectives, including communicating organizational updates and expectations to staff, concession product selection and pricing, employee onboarding and training, customer follow-up and feedback resolution, and the delivery of exceptional customer service.
Additional responsibilities include overseeing the cleanliness and general upkeep of all public IMAX areas, including washrooms; coordinating concession equipment maintenance and repairs; and supporting member and private theatre events, specifically related to front-of-house operations and guest experience.
The role also requires regular daily communication and coordination with the projection team, theatre management, museum security, and box office staff to ensure efficient theatre operations and a seamless guest experience.
- Willingness and availability to work weekends, partial evenings and statutory holidays is required.
