Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Childcare Provider to support the development and well-being of children in our care. This role involves creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children of various ages, including those with special needs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a background in early childhood education or caregiving.

Duties

Supervise and monitor children during play, learning activities, and mealtime to ensure safety at all times
Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development
Assist children with daily routines such as dressing, hygiene, and rest periods
Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing personalized care
Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns
Maintain a clean and organized environment conducive to learning and play
Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures in all aspects of childcare

Requirements

Prior 2 to 3 years classroom experience or experience working with very young children 12 month to 5 years preferred in a facility based program
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and caregiving practices
Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus
Strong teaching skills with the ability to engage children in meaningful activities
Compassionate, patient, and attentive to the needs of children
Ability to create a positive, inclusive environment that fosters growth and development
Certification in CPR/First Aid is desirable but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification required before start date
Police clearance and vulnerable sector check
Diploma in Early childhood education and Alberta Childcare staff certification Level 3 or Level 2
