About Us:

WeTrans Building Supplies is a locally operated building supply store serving homeowners, contractors, and businesses throughout Chatham-Kent and the Niagara Region. We pride ourselves on providing quality products, competitive pricing, and exceptional customer service.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a friendly and professional part-time Cashier and Customer Service Associate to join our team. This role is essential in creating a welcoming shopping experience, assisting customers with their needs, and ensuring transactions are handled accurately and efficiently.

The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, comfortable interacting with customers, and enjoys working in a fast-paced retail environment. Experience in customer service or retail sales is preferred, experience in construction/trades is considered an asset .

Responsibilities

Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
Operate the POS system and process sales transactions, returns, and exchanges accurately
Handle cash, debit, and credit card transactions with accuracy and integrity
Assist customers with loading material into their vehicles
Answer customer questions and assist with product selection
Recommend products and provide product demonstrations when appropriate
Maintain merchandising standards by organizing shelves, displays, and merchandise
Keep the checkout area and store clean, organized, and well-stocked
Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently
Update social media accounts and assist with product advertising and promotions
Support store operations and team members as needed during busy periods

Qualifications

Previous customer service, cashier, or retail experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including professional phone etiquette
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to lift/carry 30-50lbs occasionally
Basic math skills and comfort handling cash transactions
Comfortable using computers, social media platforms, and POS systems
Bilingual or multilingual abilities are considered an asset
