Position Description – Prep & Fry Cook
The Prep & Fry Cook plays a central role in our kitchen, supporting both daily production and smooth service execution. This position is ideal for someone who works efficiently, stays organized under pressure, and brings care and consistency to every task—from meticulous prep work to fast‑paced frying on the line.
Key Responsibilities:
Prep:
- Vegetable preparation including precise cutting, slicing, and portioning.
- Meat preparation as needed, following food‑safety and handling standards.
- Preparation of hand‑assembled items (e.g. egg rolls, spring rolls), ensuring uniformity and quality.
- Fry‑station prep such as breading, battering, portioning, and organizing mise en place.
· Ensure all items are prepared according to company recipes and quality standards.
· Monitor cooking times and temperatures to maintain consistency.
· Change and filter fryer oil as required to maintain food quality and equipment performance.
Line & Frying:
· Operate the fry station during service, executing orders quickly, consistently, and safely.
· Monitor oil quality, cooking times, and product standards to ensure every dish meets our expectations.
· Coordinate with the line team to keep service flowing smoothly and communicate timing clearly.
· Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment while following all food safety and workplace health and safety standards.
· Complete assigned side work before, during, and after each shift.
· Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning kitchen equipment, workstations, fryers, floors, and ensuring the restaurant is properly prepared for the next day.

Qualifications
- 1–2 years of kitchen experience preferred (prep, line cook, or fry station), but not required.
- Knife skills sufficient for consistent vegetable and meat cutting.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 30–40 lbs, and work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Comfortable working with hot equipment, fryers, and sharp tools.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Basic math and cash-handling skills
- Food Handlers certificate is an asset.

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour

Licence/Certification:
