What's the role:
An opportunity exists for a full-time Welder/Fitter/Fabricator. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced person looking for greater challenges or a change.
Qualifications and Experience required:
- CWB W47.1 MCAW / FCAW / GMAW certification
- Fabrication experience with structural steel & plate work.
- Only applicants with a minimum of pre-employment training (with 2+ years related experience), 3rd year Apprentice, or Journeyman status will be considered.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Work in accordance with OH&S regulations and Nutana Machine Safe Work Procedures and safety rules.
- Read and interpret drawings, weld symbols, and welding procedure data sheets.
- Verify the consumable, shielding gas, and welding parameters of the welding equipment.
- Fabricate – layout, cutting, fitting, measuring, and verify with quality assurance prior to welding.
- Welding and weld clean-up of previously inspected and fitted parts.
- Knowledge of weld faults and causes.
- Complete documentation requirements.
- Keep workspace and relevant equipment organized and free from hazards.
- Ability to meet specific standards and communicate problems to supervisors.
- Perform work efficiently to meet schedule, and estimated hours requirements.
- Responsible use of consumables and raw materials.
- Operation of Overhead Travelling Crane once training and competency is verified.
