We are seeking a motivated and skilled Principal Specialist, Field Services to join our team, supporting the installation, training, and maintenance of advanced Air Traffic Surveillance radar systems for our valued customers. Responsibilities:

Lead on-site activities to ensure the timely and successful installation of Air Traffic Surveillance radars

On-site activities include: cable installation/termination, mechanical assembly & alignment, troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical problems prior to formal hand-off

Conduct site-to-site optimization of the radar equipment

As member of the test team, prepare and issue test plans, test procedures, and test reports

Generate installation reports and records
-
Communicate regularly and effectively with the Installation Manager to assess site needs and expectations

Collaborate with internal engineering teams to address and resolve customer concerns
-
Conduct risk assessment and risk mitigation activities associated with program execution

Develop strategies to reduce recurring costs for product deployment

Support proposal work including providing expertise on equipment shelters, communications equipment, power systems, automation systems and ancillaries as related to Air Traffic Surveillance radars
Requirements:
-
Associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering Technology, or a minimum of 5 years of experience and/or an equivalent combination of experience, training and education.

Minimum of 2 years leading Civil / Construction / Installation projects.

Ability to use the following test equipment: Oscilloscope, RF Peak Power Meter, Multi Meter, Spectrum Analyzer, RF Monitor, Network Analyzer, Terminal Emulator (such as Tera Term), Wireshark

Strong understanding of computer networking principles, video & communication technology.

Ability to read civil/mechanical/electrical drawings.

Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (Proficiency in other software products such as Framemaker, Python, CAD software, AI tools, and programming languages are also valuable assets)

Good multi-disciplinary technology skills, including familiarity with: electronics, mechanical, and software design and development; systems engineering; and sustaining engineering in support of manufacturing.

Good communications skills; ability to listen effectively and assimilate complex sets of data; ability to express technical arguments, conclusions, and recommendations clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing; good technical writing ability.

Must be willing and able to deploy to environments that may include occasional harsh working conditions (extreme weather conditions of winter and summer).

Must be able to move and/or lift weights such as test equipment, ladders, tools, and cable reels weighing up to 60 pounds using proper lifting techniques or material moving equipment.

Willing to travel to support international business. Travel will be approximately 75% of duties with typical durations from 1 week to 2 months. Work hours while on travel may range from 40 to 60 hours per week depending on the requirement for task.

The salary range for this role is 78,000 CAD - 122,850 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
