Waterloo Nissan is seeking an experienced, driven, and hands-on Automotive Sales Manager to join our leadership team. As Sales Manager, you will work directly with the General Manager and leadership team to oversee all aspects of the Sales Department, including new vehicle sales, pre-owned vehicle sales, customer satisfaction, inventory management, sales process execution, and team development.
This is not a desk-only management role. We are looking for a leader who is actively involved in daily operations, coaches sales staff in real-time, works deals, assists customers when required, and leads by example.

Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership & Performance
- Lead, coach, and motivate a team of Sales Consultants and Financial Services Managers.
- Drive achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales objectives.
- Conduct daily sales meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews.
- Monitor sales activity and ensure consistent follow-up with all prospects.
- Assist staff in closing deals and overcoming customer objections.
- Maintain accountability for sales process execution and dealership standards.
- Develop action plans to improve performance and maximize profitability.
Customer Experience
- Ensure every customer receives an exceptional and professional purchase experience.
- Handle customer concerns and escalations promptly and professionally.
- Promote a culture focused on customer satisfaction, retention, and referrals.
- Monitor customer survey results and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
Inventory Management
- Assist in managing new and pre-owned inventory levels.
- Work closely with the General Manager to maintain appropriate inventory mix.
- Ensure aged inventory is actively marketed and sold.
- Monitor vehicle pricing, market trends, and competitor activity.
- Ensure vehicles are properly merchandised both online and on the lot.
Sales Process & Compliance
- Ensure all sales transactions comply with OMVIC regulations, MVDA requirements, and dealership policies.
- Maintain accurate deal documentation and approval processes.
- Monitor CRM utilization and sales process adherence.
- Ensure all manufacturer standards and program requirements are met.
- Support and oversee internet leads, digital sales opportunities, and customer inquiries.
Team Development
- Recruit, train, mentor, and develop future sales professionals.
- Foster a positive and accountable team culture.
- Conduct regular coaching sessions and performance evaluations.
- Create an environment focused on continuous improvement and professional growth.
Business Development
- Develop strategies to increase market share and profitability.
- Support dealership marketing initiatives and community involvement.
- Analyze reports, sales trends, and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for growth.
- Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and business partners.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Automotive Sales Management experience.
- Minimum 5 years of Automotive Sales experience.
- Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong knowledge of dealership operations, sales processes, and customer relationship management.
- OMVIC Certification.
- Valid Ontario Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work evenings and Saturdays as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PBS dealership software.
- Strong understanding of digital retailing, CRM management, and online lead generation.
- Experience managing both New and Used Vehicle departments.
- Knowledge of Nissan products and programs is considered an asset.
