Junior Data Analyst – Payroll Systems (Contract)

Waterloo Region | Contract Position

Our client is seeking a Junior Data Analyst with strong IT skills to support a payroll systems integration project. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with technology, large datasets, and system implementations. You will play a key role in helping consolidate payroll data, support system integration, and ensure data accuracy throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities

Support payroll data migration and system integration initiatives.
Analyze, validate, and reconcile payroll data from multiple systems.
Assist with merging company data during payroll and technology integrations.
Identify, investigate, and resolve data inconsistencies.
Work closely with Payroll, IT, and project stakeholders to ensure a successful implementation.
Prepare reports and analyze data to support project decisions.
Document processes, workflows, and data mapping.
Help test system functionality and validate data following system migrations.
Maintain the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive payroll information.

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
Strong IT aptitude with an interest in systems implementation and data management.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas, and data validation.
Experience with SQL, databases, Power BI, or other reporting tools is considered an asset.
Understanding of data migration, system integration, or ERP/payroll software is an asset.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
Previous experience supporting payroll, HRIS, or financial systems is considered an asset.
