This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the financial futures of retirement plan participants while serving as a strategic communications leader for our Mid/Large Segment clients. The Strategic Communications Consultant partners with clients and internal teams to design and deliver communication strategies that help participants save, invest, and prepare for retirement with greater confidence. By driving engagement and behavior change, this role supports our Participant Outcomes mission of improving retirement readiness and financial well-being. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience influencing client strategy, leading complex initiatives, and delivering measurable results at scale.
Position Responsibilities:
Strategic Client Leadership
Serve as the lead communications consultant for an assigned portfolio of Corporate and/or Taft-Hartley clients.
Partner with plan sponsors, consultants, advisors, and internal stakeholders to develop communication strategies that support participant engagement and retirement readiness.
Present communication recommendations, campaign results, and participant insights to clients and key stakeholders.
Build strong client relationships and support client retention efforts by demonstrating the value of participant communication programs.
Communication Strategy & Participant Outcomes
Develop and execute communication strategies, campaigns, and programs that improve participant behaviors related to savings, investing, retirement readiness, financial wellness, and longevity preparedness.
Use participant data, behavioral insights, and industry best practices to inform recommendations and optimize outcomes.
Measure campaign effectiveness, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend enhancements to increase engagement.
Collaborate across teams to support personalization, continuous improvement, and innovation within the participant experience.
Project Management
Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic communication projects, ensuring completion within scope, timelines, and quality expectations.
Manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and client service.
Coordinate project activities across stakeholders and business partners to ensure successful execution.
Monitor project progress, communicate status updates, and proactively address issues.
Collaboration & Team Contributions
Contribute to team initiatives, process improvements, and business priorities as needed.
Support cross-functional projects that improve efficiency and client outcomes.
Assist in documenting and sharing best practices that promote consistency and quality across the team.
Provide guidance and support to peers by sharing knowledge and expertise.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic communications, retirement planning, participant engagement, consulting, or a related field.
Demonstrated success managing client relationships and strategic communication initiatives.
Experience presenting communication recommendations and campaign results to clients and stakeholders.
Experience working collaboratively across teams and business functions.
Strong understanding of participant communications, engagement, and behavior-change principles.
Strong strategic thinking, communication, and consulting capabilities.
Effective client relationship management skills.
Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable communication strategies.
Strong project management, organization, and prioritization skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Knowledge of participant engagement, behavior-change principles, and retirement readiness strategies.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with retirement plans, financial wellness, or financial literacy programs.
Knowledge of the retirement plan industry, including Corporate and Taft-Hartley market segments.
Experience supporting client presentations, communication strategy discussions, and participant engagement initiatives.
Experience contributing to process improvements or business initiatives.
Special Conditions:
Travel may be required to support client meetings, educational events, team meetings, and business initiatives.
Estimated travel requirement: 10–20%, based on business needs and assigned responsibilities.

Salary range is expected to be between
$92,475.00 USD - $160,290.00 USD
Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
